Uahii dies

25 August 1947-01 April 2023 Bartholomeus Uahii Nguaiko, a former shoe salesman with a larger-than-life personality, who gave his all to his family and friends. He died in Windhoek after a short illness. At the height of his work as a salesman in the 90s, Nguaiko visited many villages in the central and eastern parts of Namibia.  He sold many people their first real pairs of shoes, sneakers or soccer boots when owning one was a pipe dream. Lourensia Ketji, the Pearl of Grootfontein, dies

Lourensia Ketji in front of her house in Grootfontein wearing her natural broad smile The pearl of Grootfontein, Roroo, a beautiful lady who wore a broad smile and whose life had symbolised much of the town’s charm, beauty and hospitality, died at the town of her life on the 12th May 2022. She was 55. She is survived by son Desmond Mapeseuani and daughter Eerike Rejoice, both Ketji; and six grandchildren as well as siblings Harry  Mbapeua Ketji, Kahepa Kapenaze, Betty Ketji, Kaperesende Ketji, Kapena Tjiho and Vanaune Ketji.
